Daisy Dragonfly

This card is one I made on Saturday whilst we were at the Ross Papercraft Show at Doncaster, normally I don't bring many of the cards I make home as I like to give them away.

However, this one......

came home with me!

To make this one all I did was stamp three solid Daisy flowers and gave each one a leaf. Over the top I added the detail stamp and distressed around the edge of  a piece of cream card that is 2cm smaller than an A6 card. In black Ink I then stamped Baby Dragonfly towards the top of the piece of card and across the bottom I stamped "Birthday Wishes". Baby Dragonfly was then then coloured in using a water brush and Distress Inks.

Onto a pale purple piece of card Cut 1cm smaller than an A6 card I stamped Mini cog corners around the edge, matted the Dragonfly onto this. Between the base of the Dragonfly and "Birthday Wishes" I wrapped some string around and tied it in a knot.

To finish off the card I took an A6 blank card and stamped Daisy around the edge this was then distressed and the Dragonfly added to it. Finally I added a gem in each corner.

I'm Back.....

Boy it feels like a lifetime since I last posted something!

This last week has been such a roller coaster, my little lady has been ill so much so all I have done is provide constant cuddles. However today she was well enough to go back to school, she was chomping at the door from the break of dawn!

So I need to pull my finger out and get sorted for our next show, this weekend we will be at the fabulous.......

So if you are near Doncaster on Saturday please pop by and say hi!

Time to play

Some days I just need to play with my inks, I don't have any plan I just play and sometimes things just come together.

For this card I raided my bits box and found some small pieces of cream card and stamped the solid Daisy stamp in different colours. (To get the watercolour effect I ink up my stamp then spritz it with water.) Next I added the solid leaf and over stamped it using the detailed leaf stamp and a darker green ink. Then I stamped the detailed Daisy stamp in black.

Around the edges of the small squares I distressed and added some "sketch marks" (I do this by inking up the edge of my acrylic block and stamping it around the edge of the squares.)

The square were then mounted onto a large square piece of card that I could then stamp "Birthday Wishes" around the edge. This was then distressed too. In the four outer corners I attached a brad and a bead cap.

Finally I attached this to a 8 inch square blank card that I had randomly stamped Daisy onto.

To finish off the card I stamped the detailed Daisy onto velum four times, clear embossed it and cut them out, these were attached to the centre of the card and finished off with a button and some twine. I then added a a gem between each of the saying to make it sparkle.

Not bad really for a card that started off with no plan......

Chinese New Year

This week Little Lady celebrated Chinese New Year at school so as always it was time for another costume. In true Little Lady style she knew exactly what she wanted so out came the sewing machine. She even lent a helping hand passing pins and pressing the reverse button (I think most of the outfit was sewn backwards!).

Anyhow here's the finished outfit - not bad for a couple of hours work (even if I do say so myself!).....

Sunny

This card is sooooo quick to make, I think it looks really fresh!

To make this card I started by cutting a piece of white card 2cm smaller on both sides than A5. Then I randomly stamped the solid Sunny shape all over the the piece of card. Next I stamped a solid leaf next to each flower. Finally I stamped the flower and leaf detailed stamp over all of the solid stamped shapes. Around the edge I distressed in green.

Next I cut out a piece of Kraft Card 1cm smaller on both sides, distressed around the edges and attached the stamped piece to this. In each corner I added a copper coloured brad.

Also out of the Kraft card I cut a piece as wide as the Kraft card and then tore along the two long edges so it was about 5cm deep. I then distressed around the edge of this torn piece and stamped a sentiment in the bottom right corner. Across the center I added some cream lace and attached this to the stamped  panel.

To finish the card I distressed around the edges of an A5 blank white card and attached the stamped panel to this. I found a huge button, some pins and attached them to the card, to the center of the button I attached some tied string.

Daisy

This card was made by Sue.

I just love the colours.... and amazingly she has only used two shades of blue to create it (Memento Paris Dusk and Stormy Sky Distress Ink).

To make this card Sue used our new stamp set
