Christmas Wishes.

So, this stamp set has caused much discussion in the Crafty Roo household. Mr Roo didn't quite get why you would want a light bulb on a Christmas card (or any type of card for that matter!) but my answer was WHY NOT?

So are you with me does a Light Bulb make a great card or not?

Now, wouldn't it be great if you could change the centre of the bulb! Well, you can! The bulb is separate to the middles, at the moment there are 3 Christmas centres to choose from. If you want to find out more hop across to our website.

For this card I teamed up our new stamps Bulb, Bulb - Christmas Wishes, Mini Sparkle Corner and an old favourite Little Holly.

Deck the Halls

This set (Deck the Halls - Set 2) proved to be a big hit at Ross Papercrafts show up in Nissan last Sunday, people couldn't believe how quickly you can make a fab card.

So here goes this beauty can be made in a matter of minutes.....

I started by cutting up all my card first so in red I cut a 13.5cm by 20cm  and a 12.5cm by 3cm. In white I cut a 12.5cm by 19cm and a 12.5cm by 2.5cm.

That all done I distressed lightly around the edge of the white cut pieces using Scattered Straw (this helps to make the red look red"er"). Across the top of the large white piece of card I stamped Sparkle Flourish in Memento Ladybug and then the four baubles (Christmas Minis Set 2). I then doodled around the edge and added the string between the flourish and each bauble.

Onto the thin strip of white card I stamped Deck the Halls doodled around the edge, mounted this onto the red and added a gold brad to each corner. This was then attached to the large piece of white card, and again this was mounted onto the red card, brads added and then attached to the front of a white A5 card.

So that was quick wasn't it!

These stamps can be bought as a set or individually so, if you like this set or would like to check out more of our stamps then hop over to our website!

Seasons Greetings

It feels so strange to sit and make Christmas cards when we are having such lovely weather and even more so after spending yesterday playing on the beach and today wandering around the Zoo!

Anyway back to the serious stuff - NEW STAMPS!!!!!!!

This card is one of the first cards I made using our NEW Christmas Tree - Seasons Greetings and Sparkle Flourish Stamps and I love it! From start to finish everything just worked and I am so please with the finished card.

I started by stamping the Christmas Tree onto white card in clear ink and adding Silver embossing powder. This was then trimmed down and distressed using Faded Jeans when I was happy I "polished" the embossing using a piece of kitchen roll. Using Faded Jeans and a water brush I then coloured in the star, trunk and open letters (greetings).

Next I cut a 7.5 inch square piece of white card and across it I stamped Sparkle Flourish and embossed them in silver. I did the top 2 rows then the bottom 2 and then finally the middle one so that the ink didn't dry before I put the embossing powder on.This was then distressed and polished as before.

The embossed flourish was then mounted onto the blue piece of card 0.5 inch bigger than the white and a piece of cord added. all of this when then attached to the front of an 8 inch square card.

The Christmas Tree was then mounted onto blue card too with a brad added to each corner and then attached to the front of the card.

Time to celebrate!

Before I get carried away sharing our new stamps with you all I thought I would take a quick 5 minutes to celebrate Little Lady's 5th birthday and Little Mans 1st birthday.

I don't know which is more shocking Little Lady turning 5 and all the traumas that brings - I will come to that shortly! Or Little Man turning 1! Though, to be honest he has hit that walking and grunting stage so I have been told that's about as good as it gets until he is past his teenage years!

Anyway here are their cards I bet you can't guess who likes what.....

Little Lady's birthday was first she didn't want a party this year just to go bowling with "her bestest friend ever!" and go to see a film (I bet you can't guess which one!). She is definitely growing up fast the daily dilemma of what to wear and how many clips we can fit in our hair is oh so complicated!!!!

(FYI green sugar paste - YUK!!!!!!!!!! Well, that and the half vanilla half chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and apricot jam, she must have, didn't help the overall taste combination! Mary Berry would not have been impressed!)

As for Little Man is such a (so many words spring to mind!!!) character will have to do! He charges around at a 100 miles a minute crashing and bashing head first into anything and anyone that gets in his way and if it won't move or makes him fall, well he wags that finger and gives it right old telling off! But he is desperate to be able to do the things his big sister does especially blowing out his birthday candles!

So, that is it, one crazy week full of birthdays and cake! This week we are off to the beach, zoo, movies and I am finishing the week off with a show up at Nissan on Sunday! And in between all that I will be adding some cards made with our new stamps on here too!

I have also been busy (well playing really!) with these little beauties and I have lots of ideas to share so bob back soon.....

I am just about to make a start on Little Man's Birthday card he will be 1 this weekend. I can't believe it, in some ways I can't believe he will be turning 1 but in others I can't believe he's not turning 3 or 4!
