Dimension Stamps: Sew Creative

Sew Creative is a new set from Dimension Stamps (ref: 2400073a) and it is fabulous I have had so much fun playing with this stamp set.

I couldn't resist playing with Alcohol Inks as I think they work so well with the wire manikin.

This card was so simple to make, the hardest part was deciding when to stop adding bits!

For the background I cut a strip of mirri card and "sploshed" Alcohol Ink onto it until I liked how it looked. When it was dry I then stamped the wire manikin in black Stazon ink. At the bottom I stamped "Just Because" from the Grand Word Perfect 2 set (ref: 1803069a). Then around the edge I stamped the straight stitch.

To the manikin I added a lace skirt and a pink ribbon belt, adding a brad and a bead cap as a buckle. I then matted this onto black card and I added two more brads and bead caps to the two visible corners.

Next I covered a black DL card with some backing paper (I went for a lace effect one!).

Down the left side of the card I added the same pink ribbon as the belt and added a diamante buckle.

To finish the card I added the stamped image tucking it under the ribbon. Then in the top corner I added a zip flower (I just love these!) and two hat pins.

Dimension Stamps: My Journal (Final Part)

Here is the final few pages in my journal.

The main stamps on these pages were made using the following Dimension Stamps stamp sets It's a Date Calender set (ref: 2400070a) and Forever Floral (ref: 2400061a).

October

 

October has to be my favourite page, I think it turned out so well!

 

For this page I divided it into four sections, in the top and bottom sections I masked and stamped the Calendula and coloured it in using autumnal colours.

 

In the two side sections I used the moon and bat from Octobers Project club set, the word "Halloween" from A Touch of ... Autumn Stamp set (stamp ref: 0701085a) and a spiders web I picked up from the shop a while ago. I randomly stamped these all over the sections, then distressed them in green and purple (to get that spooky feel!). To add to that spooky feel I clear stamped some of the spiders web and added Stardust embossing powder.

 



To finish it off I added some green and purple ribbon to cover the edges of the sections. I then matted this onto orange and purple card. Along the edge I added staples again to add to the spooky feel.

 

I then made the "October", to do this I stamped "October" then masked it, so I could stamp the spiders web randomly. In the two top corners I added the small spider and web from Octobers project club. This was then distressed using green and purple. To finish it off I cover it all in Stardust embossing powder.

For the calender part I randomly stamped the spiders web, then distressed lightly with green and purple!

November

I wanted November to look like fireworks, so I used bright colours and a stamp called Time Flourishes Stamp (ref: 0605039A), I think it worked!

 

For this page I split it into two, on the top section I stamped Time Flourishes in green, yellow and red. Then I stamped "Bonfire" from (A Touch of ... Autumn Stamp set (stamp ref: 0701085a)) in the top corner. I then lightly distressed this with black ink to get that smokey bonfire night feel. I then added Stickles.

 

At the bottom I stamped "November" and the Chrysanthemum. I then masked the Chrysanthemum and distressed it.

 

Where the two parts join I added some ribbon and brightly coloured brads, at the bottom I added some star brads.

 

For the calendar part I randomly stamped Time Flourishes in bright colours then distressed lightly around the edges.

 

December

December was another quick page to do, all I did was create a frame using the Holly stamp. Inside the frame I stamped a beautiful Christmas scene from a stamp set called Wordflake Project (ref: 2300050A), the word "December" underneath the Christmas scene and "Season's Greetings" above it.

 

I then coloured it in using distress inks. I added Stickles to the Holly berries and embossing powder to the snowy areas on the Christmas scene.

 

For the calender part I stamped the Holly in each corner, and the word "Christmas" from the Grand Word Perfect stamp set (ref: 1803161a) on the 25th row.

 

I really enjoyed making this journal and I was surprised how quickly it all came together. I have already had a hint that "it would make a lovely Christmas present!" What a great idea I get to have more fun making another!

Dimension Stamps: Sneaky peep

I just had to share this card, as I am having sooooo much fun making samples this week.

Dimension Stamps has a new stamp set called Sew Create which will be on Create and Craft on Monday 29th October at 4pm.

Dimension Stamps: My Journal (July - Sept)

Here's the next three pages of my journal.

The main stamps on these pages were made using the following Dimension Stamps stamp sets It's a Date Calender set (ref: 2400070a) and Forever Floral (ref: 2400061a).

July.

I think the Larkspur has a magical feel so for July I added some sparkle!

 

To make this page I cut two rectangle of white card using one horizontally and the other vertically I stamped the Larkspur in brown and blue across the bottom and up the side.  On the vertical one stamp "Larkspur" in the top right hand corner and a butterfly from the Butterfly Background (ref: 0604066A) fluttering near the Larkspur. 

 

Next I punched a circle out of a scrap piece of paper for the sun and inked it in and stamped "July" over it. To finish them off I coloured in the brown stamped Larkspurs, distressed both rectangles and doodled around the edges. I then embossed them and attached them to a piece of blue backing paper.

 

For the butterfly I used a Dimension Stamps stamp set called Vintage "Fluttering Flourishes" (ref: 2400063a). I stamped the butterfly twice onto blue velum and then the body onto Kraft card.  Onto the wing I stamped the Larkspur.

 

Once these were dry I cut them out (you only need the left wings from the butterfly!). These were then attached to the page and stickles and Glossy Accents were added to the butterfly. 

 

For the calendar I stamped the Larkspur in the bottom corner then stamped a couple of butterflies. Then lightly distress the edges.

 

August.

 

This picture isn't the greatest!

 

August page was really quick to do. I found some postal backing paper, cut it down to size and stamped "August" down the two edges, this was then distressed.

 

I then stamped the Postcard (ref: 1808010A) three times, then masking off the left hand side I stamped the Poppy then on the left hand side I stamped "August" on one and "Poppy" on the other two. These were then coloured, distressed and cut out.

 

The postcard's were then attach the the backing paper then stapled in place. To finish off I added Glossy Accents to the Poppies.

 

For the calender part I masked of the grids and stamped "August" between them, then lightly distress it.

 

I just love using the postcard stamp as it seems to work really well for those blokes cards.

 

September 

 

 

 

For Septembers page I used Octobers fantastic project club set and tried to recreate a card I made a while ago as a 60th Birthday card.

 

To make this one I stamped the Forget Me Not in the bottom right hand corner masked it and stamped it again and added "Forget Me Not"  next to them.

 

Then masking both of the stamped flowers I stamped the house, added some bricks and "September" along the roof. 

 

I then coloured in the flowers and the house.

 

Next I cut some black card for the background, then stamped and embossed the Forget Me Not. This was then attached to some patterned paper.

 

Finally I added some brads to the corners.

Dimension Stamps: My Journal (April - June)

Just sharing some more of my journal!

The main stamps on these pages were made using  the following Dimension Stamps stamp sets It's a Date Calender set (ref: 2400070a) and Forever Floral (ref: 2400061a).

April.

 

 

I think April has to be one of my favourite pages it came together so quickly but I just love how it looks.

 

To make this page I used the Postage Stamp set (ref: 1808011A) and stamped two of the largest and middle sizes postage stamps. Into the two largest ones I stamped the Sweet Pea and the word "Sweet Pea". Then in one of the middle size ones I stamped "April" and a butterfly from the Butterfly Background (ref: 0604066A) in the last one, these were all coloured in and blackout the edges of the postage stamps. 

 

For the background  I just used some paper and matted it onto pink card before attaching it to the page.

 

I added the postage stamps and then covered them in crackle paint to add some texture.

 

For calender part I masked off the grid then randomly stamped the Sweet Pea in the gaps and coloured them in then distressed around the edge.

 

May

 



For May I wanted to get that woodland feel!

 

To make the background I used a "twiggy" mask and tried to create the feeling of a sunny spring day. I then stamped the "Lilly of the Valley" three times, and a butterfly from the Butterfly Background (ref: 0604066A),  then I coloured these in.

 

Finally I stamped the word "May" in the bottom corner, added a ribbon across the top and added some stickles.

 

For the calendar part I used the mask again.

June.

For June I die cut a bird out of patterned paper and it's wing out of plain white card.

 

Next I cut a square of white card and stamped the Rose to the left hand so it looked like the bird is holding when I stuck it back down. I then stamped the word "Rose" twice in each corner so that I could put a brad between the two word. I then stamped the rose head onto the wing. Next I coloured in both the roses and distressed around the edges. This was then matted onto black card then I added brads to each corner.

 

For the background I choose some matching paper and added a strip of white card to the bottom where I stamped "June" and two Roses. I then distressed around the edge.

 

To finish this page off I added ribbon over the edge of the white card.

 

On the calender page I stamped the Rose onto each of the grids and coloured them in (lightly!).

 

I think this would make a nice Valentines day or Anniversary card!

Dimension Stamps: My Journal (Jan - Mar)

Dimension Stamps have a fantastic stamp set call It's a Date Calender set (ref: 2400070a) it can be used to make calenders, diaries, well anything that needs dates really. 

So I decided I would have some fun and make a journal using mainly this set and another Dimension Stamps set called Forever Floral (ref: 2400061a).

Here's how it looks....

Front and Back.

The front and back pages contain all the twelve months and embellishments that appeared in the journal.  To make these pages all I did was mask off six sections on both pages and fill each section with a different month. The front cover has January to June and the back has July to December. The on the label and dressmakers doll I used the flowers from July (Larkspur) and August (Poppy.)

 

January

 

 

For January I created the background by scrunching up some tissue paper then sticking it to some card and flattening it out and stamped Time Flourishes Stamp (ref: 0605039A) onto it. I then chose some paper to complete the background and stuck this on. 

 

I then stamped the largest postage stamp from the Postage Stamp set (ref: 1808011A) and stamped the Carnation and it's word into it. I coloured in the carnation using distress inks and blackout the border of the postage stamp. Once it was dry I covered it in crackle paint.

 

The dressmakers doll is a Tim Holtz die, which I cut out, masked off the "body" and using distress inks coloured in the post, I then masked off the post and stamped the carnation randomly, this was then coloured in using distress ink. Once dry I added glossy accents to the carnations and tried a ribbon around the "neck".

 

To make the tag I stamped "January" and distressed it. I then embossed it using clear enamel, once the enamel was cool I distressed it again so any gaps in the enamel became really dark. I did this again for the side tab using the vertical "January"

 

It was all finished off with some ribbons and lace.

 

I have to admit this card did inspire my friends birthday card.

 

For the calendar part I stamped the grid across the page three time, added the numbers. Then I masked off between each of the grids and stamped the Carnation and coloured it in.

 

February

 

 

February's page was so quick and simple to make I was shocked!

 

To make the background I randomly stamped the Violet, then masked them of to add the grid and numbers making sure the 14th was visible. I then added "Valentines Day" from the Grand Word Perfect Set  (ref: 1803161a). I then coloured this in.

 

For the "banner" I cut a strip of card and stamped February in the centre. I then created a mask and stamped the Violet at each end, coloured in and distressed it. The along the two edges added fake stitches. I added this to some purple card and stuck it on a black doily and added it. I added glossy accents to the flowers.

 

The calender part was distressed around the edges then between the grids.

 

See, I said this one was quick!

 

March

 

 

 

I just love Daffs, so I had lots of fun making March.

 

To make this one I choose some spring time paper and distress around the edge. I then stamped the Daffs three times to go in the birdcage. Then in a corner I masked and stamped the Daffs. I then coloured these in and cut them out.

 

I die cut the birdcage and coloured the top and bottom, then added the three flowers. Using brads I filled in the holes on the birdcage.

 

To finish off I added ribbons and brads. Then stamped "March"  in the top corner.

 

For the calendar part I just distressed it all over and coloured in between the grids.

 

This would make a lovely Easter card!

A Birthday Gift!

I didn't know what to get my friend for her birthday so I decided to make her a necklace!

It has been a while since I last had a play with my jewellery making things, I had forgotten how much I enjoy it!

Oh and most importantly she loved it!
