Blakemere Craft Fair

This weekend we are at the Blakemere Artisan Food and Craft Market between 10am and 4pm both days.

If you are passing why not drop by, say "hi" and check out this fabulous place, you might even get to meet Father Christmas and his donkeys.

Here is a sneaky peep at a couple of the lovely ceramics we have for sale this weekend!

Christmas Ceramics

Here's a couple more Christmas Ceramics I painted and gave as presents this year.

I was so nervous about painting these as I really wasn't sure how they would turn out, but once they were done I was really pleased with them!

And finally another gift bag!

More Ceramics

I have been busy painting again this time I managed to get a couple of presents painted.

Mr Christmas

I am really pleased with how he turn out and have got some delious smelling Yankie Candle tea lights to go with him!
More Sweetie Bags

I painted four of these, it took six coats of red paint to cover the hat (that's far too many!)

And as always Little Lady painted a few things too...

Apparantly it's not a reindeer but a donkey with spikey ears!

Meet our friends

So, I decided it was about time to pick up those painting sticks again and get on with painting the mountain of ceramics that are gathering dust in the craft room.

Little Ladies Friends

I think she means family as she has named each one (Aunt Nic = pink, Mummy = purple, Little lady = yellow/blue, Granny = brown/red, Grandad = Green, Grandpa = Blue and Daddy = black/red). That's why I love painting ceramics as each one has a unique story. Well, especially in our house!

I also managed to get these gorgeous bags painted, they are about 5inches high and going to take alot of sweets to fill them!

Whilst I was glazing these I also did Head! He looks lovely now he is glazed and Little lady has taken quite a shine to him. So much so, he has to live in her home (bedroom)!

Little lady also got to paint a couple of tree decorations.

I think the snowman head looks like the joker from Batman! And apparently the Penguin is blue because he lives were its cold! I think I am going to add little tags to them with their stories so that we never forget them!

Introducing Magnolia

Isn't she wonderful!

She has taken months to paint, well maybe not months, it just feels that way! But she is finally finished, she is about 12inches high by about 18inches long and weighs the same as a baby elephant, especially when you are holding her up with one hand and painting with the other. Lol.

I just love her, she is probably the bigest piece I have ever painted and she has given me the confidence to tackle a couple more of the larger pieces I have waiting to be painted, well maybe!

Whist I was painting Magnolia, I also worked on Bert...

(He will have a light in side him and little coloured bulbs in the trees, once my husband has chance to fit it!)

And of course Ernie...

(Not great picture!)

Both are alot smaller than Magnolia and were a doddle to paint! Or as my little'un calls them "tiny tiny".

This last one still needs glazing (and a minor repaint on its hat, one to many cuddles from little'un!).

I haven't named this one, yet its just known as head! lol.

Meet the gang!

Aren't they sweet!

I know it's a little late but I have just painted a few tree decorations. I just love hand painted ceramics on my tree. I think it makes my tree so special, as each one has a story or memory attached. Some of the ceramics on my tree date back from before I was born, my auntie painted them for my grandparents and they have now been passed onto me. Others have been painted by my sister, but most have been painted by me over a number of years.

 However.....

(not the greatest picture!)

.. there is a new artist in town! My little girl who's 18 months old painted this one! (I am just soooo proud!) I am hoping I can get her to paint a few more before Christmas as this one has many people offering him a new home, but this one is MINE! I can't wait to hang him on the tree, he will have the best spot!
