Nina Crafts: Fancy a dip?

This was actually the first card I made using the new NEW stamp sets from Nina Crafts. I was really pleased with the results!

For this card I used the NEW stamp sets Mavis goes swimming, Cecil goes fishing (crab and fish!), Mullered Mavis (bottles), Birthday galore and ABC 123. I also used the  Dad's shed and Out at sea Dimension Stamps project club sets and finally the Letter frames (star!).

Wow I didn't realised I had used soooo many stamps lol! 

To make this card I made a stepper card out of blue and sand coloured card, so that the peaks were 4cm, 8 cm and 10 cm high. 

Onto white card I stamped, coloured and cut out Mavis. Next I stamped two sheds, added the Seagull to one of the sheds and then masked of the door of a shed and stamped the stars all over it. Then to the roof of the same shed I masked it off and added the circles. I coloured these in to match  Mavis and cut them out. I then measured the width of the sheds and trimmed the stepper down width ways to match. Onto off cuts of white card I also stamped the life ring and some wine bottles, these were all coloured in and cut out.

Next I stamped the "Happy Birthday to you ...." saying in blue ink onto some more blue card then cut it to look like a wave and stuck it onto the bottom step. I did the same with some sand coloured card but this time stamped the crab and fish onto it and stuck it to the second step. I cut a second piece of sand coloured card but left this one blank. I then stuck the sheds part way down on the final step and added the sand to the bottom of it. To the shed I also fixed the life ring with a small brad and next to the sheds I stuck on the wine bottles.

Then onto yellow card I stamped the star Letter frame and inside I stamped "LIFE Begins At......" and stamped "60" onto Mavis. I then coloured and cut this out too.

To finish off the card I made a large hole on either side of the card  through all the steps and added an eyelet to the two holes on the front. I then threaded ribbon through all the steppers and tied it at the front (this made sure the card would stand as it kept sliding flat!). I then stuck on the star and Mavis to the card and added Glossy Accents to her glasses.

I know it has been a while but hopefully you will think it has been worth it!

As soon as I saw Dimension Stamps April's Project Club stamps I thought about Fathers Day gifts as both my Dad and Father-in-law are big veggie growers and this set seemed to fit really well!

This "Veggie Guide" gives them room to make notes about the plants they have planted each season, how well they did or didn't do! 

Store empty seed packets so they know which ones they want to buy for next year!

I have also split it into veggie groups to be super organised! 

To make this "Veggie Guide" I also used the following stamps:

This is my attempt at March's Tim Holtz tag. I really wasn't sure how I was going to make this month's tag I just wasn't coming up with any ideas, then I spotted the February Dimension Stamps Project Club set and away I went.

 

I am really pleased with how the string backing has turned out, I think I will be doing that again. All I did was cover a die cut shape with tape and stuck on strips of string then cut around it , I love how the edges are fraying slightly!

 

For this tag I used the following stamps from Dimension Stamps:

• February's project club stamp set 
• Forever Floral
• Postage stamps

I also used the Tim Holtz tattered banners and two spellbinders dies. The "ribbon" at the top is actually washi tape stuck together.

 

 

Happy Valentines Day!

I know it's a little early but I current resist playing with Dimension Stamps January's project club stamp set, they are just so cute!

 

 

For this card I also used Grand Word Perfect 2 (ref: 1803069a),  Krystal Tip Alphabet (ref: 1900006A) and Postage Stamps (ref:1808011A).

 

I started by stamping in black, the large postage stamp blank, then inside it I stamped the lollipop to the left hand side, then in the bottom right corner I stamped "swee" down and "heart" across the bottom making the  "t" fit right in the corner.

 

Next I masked off the lollipop and the writing and randomly stamped the small sweet in red, all over the background.

 

To finish of the postage stamp I cut it out and coloured in the edge, then leaving the mask over the lollipop, then distressed it.

 

Then using an A6 card blank and red ink, I stamped the top half with 3 lollipops, then masked these off and filled in the gaps with the small sweetie and distressed around the edge.

 

Out of red card I cut a 6cm strip and attached that the the bottom of the card and stamped "I Love You" in the bottom right corner.

 

Where the red card ends I punched a small hole on the edge and another at the folded edge and threaded white and black ribbon and tied a bow.

 

Next I added three pearl gems in two corners and then attached the postage stamp. To finish off I added Glossy Accents to the lollipop on the postage stamp.

 

Oh so sweet!

Dimension Stamps: Sew Creative

I had sooooo much fun making this card! It was so quick and easy to make I was so surprised!

For this card I used the following stamps from Dimension Stamps: Sew Creative (ref: 2400073a),Grand Word Perfect 2 (ref: 1803069a) and a project club stamp set called  Wordflake (ref: 2300050A).

I started with the background for this card. I cut a 7.5inch square white card and masked off the bottom section to give the impression of snow on the ground, and masked a narrow border around the edge.

In the "sky" I clear stamped the snowflakes from the Wordflake Project set then clear embossed them. Next I distressed it using different shades of blue ink. Once I was happy with it I spritzed it with silver shimmer mist.

Once this was dry I removed the masks. At the bottom I added Shabby Blue Frantage embossing enamel (trying not to get any in the narrow border.) I then stamped around the edge with the Zig Zag stitch. Down the left hand side I added some coordinating trims/wools and in the top right corner added a large brad. This was then matted onto blue pearl card, which I stamped around the edge using the straight stitch. I then attached this to an 8x8 inch white card and added the stitching again. 

I then stamped the manikin onto white card and added snowflakes as I did for the background and coloured in the post. Next I tied some wool around the neck of the manikin and attached it to the card, once on the card I added Glossy Accents to the post.

Finally I did the sentiment, for this I stamped the banner border from Grand Word Perfect 2 and stamped "Winter Wonderland" into it. this was then distressed. I then added embossing enamel, when it was cool I went over it again with distress ink. And attached it to the card.

See I said this was a quick one!

Dimension Stamps: My Journal (Final Part)

Here is the final few pages in my journal.

The main stamps on these pages were made using the following Dimension Stamps stamp sets It's a Date Calender set (ref: 2400070a) and Forever Floral (ref: 2400061a).

October

 

October has to be my favourite page, I think it turned out so well!

 

For this page I divided it into four sections, in the top and bottom sections I masked and stamped the Calendula and coloured it in using autumnal colours.

 

In the two side sections I used the moon and bat from Octobers Project club set, the word "Halloween" from A Touch of ... Autumn Stamp set (stamp ref: 0701085a) and a spiders web I picked up from the shop a while ago. I randomly stamped these all over the sections, then distressed them in green and purple (to get that spooky feel!). To add to that spooky feel I clear stamped some of the spiders web and added Stardust embossing powder.

 



To finish it off I added some green and purple ribbon to cover the edges of the sections. I then matted this onto orange and purple card. Along the edge I added staples again to add to the spooky feel.

 

I then made the "October", to do this I stamped "October" then masked it, so I could stamp the spiders web randomly. In the two top corners I added the small spider and web from Octobers project club. This was then distressed using green and purple. To finish it off I cover it all in Stardust embossing powder.

For the calender part I randomly stamped the spiders web, then distressed lightly with green and purple!

November

I wanted November to look like fireworks, so I used bright colours and a stamp called Time Flourishes Stamp (ref: 0605039A), I think it worked!

 

For this page I split it into two, on the top section I stamped Time Flourishes in green, yellow and red. Then I stamped "Bonfire" from (A Touch of ... Autumn Stamp set (stamp ref: 0701085a)) in the top corner. I then lightly distressed this with black ink to get that smokey bonfire night feel. I then added Stickles.

 

At the bottom I stamped "November" and the Chrysanthemum. I then masked the Chrysanthemum and distressed it.

 

Where the two parts join I added some ribbon and brightly coloured brads, at the bottom I added some star brads.

 

For the calendar part I randomly stamped Time Flourishes in bright colours then distressed lightly around the edges.

 

December

December was another quick page to do, all I did was create a frame using the Holly stamp. Inside the frame I stamped a beautiful Christmas scene from a stamp set called Wordflake Project (ref: 2300050A), the word "December" underneath the Christmas scene and "Season's Greetings" above it.

 

I then coloured it in using distress inks. I added Stickles to the Holly berries and embossing powder to the snowy areas on the Christmas scene.

 

For the calender part I stamped the Holly in each corner, and the word "Christmas" from the Grand Word Perfect stamp set (ref: 1803161a) on the 25th row.

 

I really enjoyed making this journal and I was surprised how quickly it all came together. I have already had a hint that "it would make a lovely Christmas present!" What a great idea I get to have more fun making another!

Dimension Stamps: My Journal (July - Sept)

Here's the next three pages of my journal.

The main stamps on these pages were made using the following Dimension Stamps stamp sets It's a Date Calender set (ref: 2400070a) and Forever Floral (ref: 2400061a).

July.

I think the Larkspur has a magical feel so for July I added some sparkle!

 

To make this page I cut two rectangle of white card using one horizontally and the other vertically I stamped the Larkspur in brown and blue across the bottom and up the side.  On the vertical one stamp "Larkspur" in the top right hand corner and a butterfly from the Butterfly Background (ref: 0604066A) fluttering near the Larkspur. 

 

Next I punched a circle out of a scrap piece of paper for the sun and inked it in and stamped "July" over it. To finish them off I coloured in the brown stamped Larkspurs, distressed both rectangles and doodled around the edges. I then embossed them and attached them to a piece of blue backing paper.

 

For the butterfly I used a Dimension Stamps stamp set called Vintage "Fluttering Flourishes" (ref: 2400063a). I stamped the butterfly twice onto blue velum and then the body onto Kraft card.  Onto the wing I stamped the Larkspur.

 

Once these were dry I cut them out (you only need the left wings from the butterfly!). These were then attached to the page and stickles and Glossy Accents were added to the butterfly. 

 

For the calendar I stamped the Larkspur in the bottom corner then stamped a couple of butterflies. Then lightly distress the edges.

 

August.

 

This picture isn't the greatest!

 

August page was really quick to do. I found some postal backing paper, cut it down to size and stamped "August" down the two edges, this was then distressed.

 

I then stamped the Postcard (ref: 1808010A) three times, then masking off the left hand side I stamped the Poppy then on the left hand side I stamped "August" on one and "Poppy" on the other two. These were then coloured, distressed and cut out.

 

The postcard's were then attach the the backing paper then stapled in place. To finish off I added Glossy Accents to the Poppies.

 

For the calender part I masked of the grids and stamped "August" between them, then lightly distress it.

 

I just love using the postcard stamp as it seems to work really well for those blokes cards.

 

September 

 

 

 

For Septembers page I used Octobers fantastic project club set and tried to recreate a card I made a while ago as a 60th Birthday card.

 

To make this one I stamped the Forget Me Not in the bottom right hand corner masked it and stamped it again and added "Forget Me Not"  next to them.

 

Then masking both of the stamped flowers I stamped the house, added some bricks and "September" along the roof. 

 

I then coloured in the flowers and the house.

 

Next I cut some black card for the background, then stamped and embossed the Forget Me Not. This was then attached to some patterned paper.

 

Finally I added some brads to the corners.

Dimension Stamps - August Project Club

Dimension stamps run a monthly project club, you get a set of stamps, a newsletter, an ideas sheet and all the stuff (minus glue and ink) to make one of the ideas for £10, to join the club visit the Dimension Stamps website!

Augusts set was called Teenage Dream (stamp ref: 2300060a) and I just had to have a play with them.

Door Hanger

What teenage boys room couldn't be complete without a "Do not disturb" sign?

 

To make this all I did was cut out two door hanger (and it's shadow) on the Cricut. To make the centre pieces I cut a strip to fit inside the door hangers in white.

On the front I stamped the games controller at the top and headphones at the bottom, and coloured them in. I then cut a burst shape (and it's shadow) out on the Cricut in green. One this I stamped NOT using Krystal tips upper and lower alpha stamp set (ref: 2400012A). I then underlined this and highlighted some of the sticky out bits in black pen. This was then stuck to the white card so that Do and Disturb could be fitted around it. Next still using the Krystal tips I stamped Do and Disturb. (And a finger print, tho that wasn't part of the plan!). I lightly distressed the edges, I then glued this to one side of the door hanger and using glossy accents I filled in the burst.

On the back I just used masks to fill in the white card with the games controller, headphones and  laptop. Then coloured it all in and lightly distressed the edges. I cut the name out on the cricut in black and stuck it on, and finally added card candi in the corners.

Once the glossy accents was dry I stuck the back on!

Very quick and simple to do!

Gift Card

I am always stuck what to buy my friends daughter and always end up giving her a gift voucher for somewhere. So I decided I wanted to come up with an idea of making the voucher part of the card ....

This card is basically a 5inch square card with an extra flap for the gift card. I took two sheets of pink card, one slightly lighter than the other and cut then down so they were 5 inches wide (on the shortest side!) Then taking the piece of card for the front and back (in my case the darker piece). Along the length I scored it as if it was going to be an A4 gate fold and then again 0.5 inch after that. From the second score line I measured 5 inches and cut it. For the flap I took the other piece of card and again along the length scored it, as if it was an A5 gate fold and then again 0.5 inch after that. From the second score line I measured 5 inches and cut it. I then stuck the card together.

To make the Gift card envelope I used a piece of 12 x 12 patterned paper, cut a strip 4.25 inches wide. Then scored along the length at 2.75 and 6.25 inches then trimmed it so it is 9 inches long. I took the corners of the flap and on the inside flap I removed a section so that the card could be taken out easier. I used strong tape on the edges to form the envelope, added an edge of pink to the flap and a brad to keep the envelope fastened. 

To decorate the front of the card I cut out a circle and stamped the straighteners, masked them then stamped the phone and coloured these in. Around the edge I stamped Birthday Wishes in pink from the Grand Word Perfect stamp set (ref: 1803161a), distressed it and used glossy accents to highlight the phone and straighteners. I used the remaining pale pink card and patterned paper to create a backing, added flowers and charms to complete the front. I added the stamped image once dry.

 On the inside front flap I again used the pale pink and patterned paper leftovers to create a backing. Onto white ribbon I stamped Hugs and Kisses from the Grand Word Perfect set. Added the ribbons across the corners and finished off with some matching flowers. On the back of the gift card flap I stamped the words from the stamp set all over it and distressed the edges. On the inside on the gift card flap I stamped the straighteners around the edge, coloured them in and distressed the edges.

I then stamped the phone and straighteners, coloured these and cut them out I then added them to the outside of the gift card flap. To finish of this flap I added the ribbon, making sure the ends would be behind the gift card envelope on the other side.

On the other side I added the gift envelope. I stamped With Love onto a speech bubble and attached that to the envelope. I also added a ribbon and a bow to the flap.

 For the back of the card (greetings bit).  I again used some of the pale pink and patterned paper to create the background. I then cut a small square of  white card and stamped in pink Love & Best Wishes then distressed it. Onto shrink plastic I stamped the phone and straighteners, coloured these in and heated them. I added these and a couple of brads to the greeting to finish it off. All done!
