Happy Easter

My Little Lady has crafted her socks off over the past few days making.....

Treat baskets

The carrot ones had to have "muck" (mud) on them so we added flower soft! Oh and used a full tub of glue, I am surprised they ever dried!

Cards

Not quite sure why one poor sheep has 4 eyes, but it did! And of course.....

Cakes!

She loves making things the only time she ever got upset was when I told her I had run out of things to make!

The baskets and cards are made using cutting files from My Scrap Chick, aren't they fab and sooooo handy for things to make with Little Lady!

Happy Birthday

Today is my other halfs birthday! He got woke up by Little Lady telling him "you are now as old as Granny!" and then got to go and play in the snow!
What more could anyone want for their birthday!
Here is is card from me I used my new stamps Awesome Boyz and Tyre Trackz.

For the backing I stamped the Tyre Trackz into ultra thick embossing enamal. Everyone who has seen it has to touch it and say "wow, how have you done that?" even people who don't craft are having to feel it! I think I will be doing it again!

And of course Little Lady had to make her Dad-dee-cules a card and here it is....

Fabulous isn't it!

Birthday Card

My sister made a comment a couple of weeks ago that she loved the Tim Holtz Vintage Fan die but hadn't got a clue what she would ever do with it. So for her birthday I bought her the die and it would have been rude not to use it to make her card.....

To make this card I cut out a piece of white card 7.5 inch square and covered it in torn pieces from a book that had been distressed lightly. I then stamped the large cog corner from Crafty Roo Designs (available VERY soon!) in two opposite corners. I then distressed this and set it to one side.

Next I die cut the fan from white card (yep this fan started out white!!!!) I distressed across the bottom using Black Soot then Pewter distress stain to add highlights. The fan part was done in Wild Honey,  Stormy Sky, Rusty Hinge, Black Soot and Frayed Burlap Then I added Antiqued Bronze distress stain.

Whilst the fan dried I die cut the words from the Spellbinders Girlie Grunge set and distressed them. And I also cut out the flowers from the Time Holtz Tattered Florals using the two small ones only. I then embossed them using the Time Holtz Blueprint embossing folder. All the flowers were then distressed and I added some Pewter distress stain.

To finish the card I stuck the backing card onto some black card and used the Pewter Distress Stain around the edge I then added the fan, words, flowers and brads.

Finally I attached the card to an 8x8 inch Kraft card which had been distressed around the edge.

Nic loved her card and started to tell me all the ways she could use her new die.

Little Lady

Little Lady also made her a card it had to have penguins on it and sparkles! She does really well as the only help she gets is with the cutting/folding of the card/paper and a reminder which way words go!

12 tags: March

This is my attempt at March's Tim Holtz tag. I really wasn't sure how I was going to make this month's tag I just wasn't coming up with any ideas, then I spotted the February Dimension Stamps Project Club set and away I went.

I am really pleased with how the string backing has turned out, I think I will be doing that again. All I did was cover a die cut shape with tape and stuck on strips of string then cut around it , I love how the edges are fraying slightly!

For this tag I used the following stamps from Dimension Stamps:
  • February's project club stamp set
  • Forever Floral
  • Postage stamps
I also used the Tim Holtz tattered banners and two spellbinders dies. The "ribbon" at the top is actually washi tape stuck together.

Nina Crafts: Vroom Vroom Room Sign

So, I don't know where to start with this one! It was one disaster after another making this room sign but I thought I would share it anyway....

For this room sign I used the Vroom Vroom Stamp set and the plain lowercase alphabet from Dimension stamps.
I started by painting three chipboard stars in yellow acrylic paint and set aside to dry (you can speed it up a little using your heat gun!).
Next I stamped "ben" onto white card, over stamped it with the tyre tracks. Onto the white card I also stamped the exhaust smoke. I then cut every thing out and left it to one side.
Then onto red card I stamped the car, added a number, blacked out the windows and cut it out too.
When the chipboard stars were dry, I then shaded one with red, one with orange and one with green. I then (and this is where I really messed up!) went around the edges of the stars and added bits to the points too with permanent marker pen (I didn't look and picked up a dry wipe pen grrrrrrr!). Then attached "ben" to the stars and glaze (mine smudged and I had to start again!).
Next cover a, A5 piece of chipboard in some backing paper and randomly stamp the tyre tracks. I then arranged the stars and cut off any excess chipboard.
To finish it off I stuck on the car and exhaust fumes and added glossy accents!
I do like how it turned out but just grouchy I had to paint the stars twice! Oh and my dry wipe pen got moved of my crafting desk!

Mothers Day

So here is my mums Mothers Day card. Again I used my Baby Butterfly and Large Cog Corner stamp set this time I stuck to greens and browns.

To make this card I used the following:
Stamps: Baby Butterfly stamp set by Craft Roo Designs. Large Corner Cogs stamp set by Craft Roo Designs (available soon on our new website!).
Inks/Stains: Distress inks: Walnut Stain, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen, Pine Needles, Crushed olive, Peeled paint. Memento ink: Tuxedo Black. Distress Stains: Antique Bronze.
Other items: Tattered Florals, Washers Tim Holtz Die, brads, Frantage Aged Black Embossing Enamels, Velum, Brown Ribbon.

Mother's Day

Normally I make the same card for both my mum and my mother in law but this year I was a little late making my cards so I needed to make one quick to get it in the post, it will be a couple of days late, whoops!

This card was made using two of my new stamps called Baby Butterfly and Mini Corner Cogs. I wanted the card to be quite bright and full of spring, so I tried to stick to yellows, oranges and greens.

To make this card I used the following:
Stamps: Baby Butterfly stamp set by Craft Roo Designs. Mini Corner Cogs stamp set by Craft Roo Designs (available soon on our new website!). Grand Word Perfect by Dimension Stamps.
Inks: Distress inks: Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.Memento ink: Rich Coaco.
Other items: Crackle Paint, Tattered Florals Tim Holtz Die, brad and bead cap.

This is my Little ladys card for her nana, I was really impressed as she asked for a leaf and flower, granted she stamped the leaf in pink and the flower in blue then "coloured" them in until they can only just be seen, but hey at least she is starting to think about what goes together!
Also check out that distressing on the top and bottom of the card, I think she is going to love her distress inks as much as me!

Two Little Peoples' birthday cards

I really enjoy making cards for little people, I find them a real challenge to do as I can't go to town with my distress inks and stains, and we all know how much I LOVE my distress inks!
Anyhow, two little people (who also are brother and sister) are turning ONE so what better way to say "Happy 1st Birthday" than with a bright pink elephant and a big blue lion!

Both the lion, elephant, circles and squares are SVG files from My Scrap Chick, the lettering is from a Cricut cartridge and the number "1" is from the "Plain Numbers Matching" stamp set from Dimension Stamps.

Well I couldn't do two whole cards without stamping being on there somewhere!

Nina Crafts: Vroom Vroom T-shirt

I love making my own t-shirts for my little lady, she has her own sense of style and is forever demanding, sorry, asking rather loudly for a certain thing to be on her tops, so stamping onto them has become second nature to us. I just buy a bulk load of white t-shirts and wait for the demands.....

For this t-shirt I used the Vroom Vroom and plain alphabet stamp sets from Nina Crafts /Dimension Stamps.
I started by ironing some Heat'N'Bond Lite onto some red and green fabric, then onto that I stamped the car and "GO" onto it using Versacraft ink. Please remember to heat seal it using an iron otherwise it will wash out or will run if it gets wet and it will make a BIG mess! I always have a scrap piece of fabric that I place over the image when I am ironing as some does come off and I wouldn't want it to end up on my iron or worse my hubbies shirts!
Once they were sealed I cut them out leaving a small boarder around the car.
I then spaced them out on the t-shirt and stamped on the tyre tracks and exhaust fumes, then sealed them too.
Next I ironed on the car and letters. Because I had used Heat'N'Bond Lite I then had to sew around the edges of the car and letters. (If you don't like sewing you can use No Sew Heat'N'Bond!).

Nina Crafts: Floral Adournments

This card didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to, what I wanted was a really light pinkie card. But I got alittle carried away with my distress inks and it turned out darker oh well I still like it but it in no way looks how I planned it too.

Anyway, for this card I used the new Floral Adornments and Beautiful Bouquet stamp sets from Nina Crafts/ Dimension Stamps. I also Posie Passion and Forever Floral.
I started by cutting an A4 card in half and then scored both pieces at 3cm, 5.5cm 15.5cm and 18cm. Then in the middle panel stamped the frame on both pieces.
On one piece I cut out the centre, distressed it and doodled around the edge of the centre panel.
On the solid piece I stamped Rose from Forever Floral in the centre of the frame, then coloured and distressed it. I then added a piece of ribbon across the Rose.
Next I glued together the two outer flaps and attached some patterned paper that had been distressed and doodles on it too. I then put two eyelets in each flap and threaded through some ribbons.
To finish off the card I made a pink flower using Posie Passion attached it using silicon glue and added two hatpins. I then stamped the small frame and "Just a Note" saying from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, this was coloured, distressed and added to patterned paper. Once it was attached I used Crackle Paint over the sentiment.

Nina Crafts: Vroom Vroom: Anyone for ice cream?

I know it is  little crazy but when I saw the exhaust fumes on the new set Vroom Vroom stamp set from Nina Crafts/ Dimension Stamps all I could think was umm ice cream..........

So before I could make anything else with this set, I had to make ice creams.

All I used for this card we the Vroom Vroom stamp set.
First I stamped the "ice cream" three times onto a small piece of white card and coloured them in adding a chocolate flake to each of them.
Then I drew a line black line around the edge and mounted it onto orange card. I then added two orange and two green brads to the four corners.
Next I made a 6 inch by 6 inch green card and stamped "Happy Birthday" cross the bottom leaving enough room to add a brad either side and a line black line.
I then added a strip of spotty paper across the card and added orange ribbon to the top and bottom of it. I also tied a small piece green ribbon in a knot too.
To finish it off I attached the "ice creams" to the card with foam tape and added stickles for sprinkles.
I think these would make a great party invite too!
