Frosty Butterfly

Now, I don't want to be saying the "C" word but this card definitely has that frosty feeling to it! Makes me think I should be giving a thought to those "C" cards for this year lol!

To make this card I started by cutting a piece of pale blue paper into a 7 & 1/2 inch square and in the centre drew around a CD with a pencil. Around the circle I stamped the cog arrangement from Large Cog Corners. Then in each corner I stamped the Mini Cog Corner. Then in the centre I stamped  the postage mark from Postage Sentiments. Around the edge I then used clear ink and Frantage Embossing Enamel. This was then mounted onto a dark pearl paper and a brad added to each corner. Finally it was attached to an 8 inch square card.

Next I stamped a wing from the Build Your Own Butterfly twice, then distressed it and cover it in Stardust Embossing powder and added it to the card. For the Butterflies body I used a safety pin with some wire attached for antenna.

To finish of the card I stamped " Thinking of you" from the Postage sentiments and stuck this into a bottle top and attached it to the card.

Butterfly Bingo

I have had soooo many kind comments about this card, I just can't believe it! As it was so quick to make and no one believes me when I say it, so here goes.....

To make this card I started by sending the BINGO mask through my Grand Callibur and cutting it out. Next I held the mask over it and distressed the red bits, then removed the mask and aged it.

I then stamped each of the Build Your Own Butterfly's wing in brown and distressed it from the inner wing out gradually making the colour more intense. When I was happy with them I shaped them and left them to one side.

Next I stamped the Large Cog Corner in brown in two opposite corners of a 7 inch square card and distressed it. This was then mounted onto a 7 & 1/2 inch square piece of red card. I then attached the BINGO card and around the bottom tied some string, which I then attached using staples. My string is really pale and looked awful so I used my distress inks to age it. This piece of card was them mounted onto a 8 x 8 inch black/brown card.

To finish the card off I added the butterfly adding a safety pin as a body. (I always add either Glossy Accents or silicon glue to the fastening on the safety pin, so that it will not open and hurt anyone).

How quick and easy is this card?????? I think I am going to try it in blue or green next as I have a few blokes birthdays coming up.

Butterfly Canvas

Here is a really quick canvas I made using the Build Your Own Butterfly stamp set. It was sooooo relaxing poking all those pins in!!!!

I started by covering the canvas in tapioca acrylic paint (the white to bright!). When it was dry I inked around the edges using different tones of blue Distress Ink. Next I stamped the Butterfly onto the canvas using Stazon ink and the antenna in copper Glitter Paste.

I then sat and added all the pins and sequins. On the back of the canvas I had added some polystyrene and the next time I do this I will make sure I don't stamp the image over the wooden frame as it is a nightmare trying the get the pins through!

Once I had covered all the butterfly in sequins I added lace, ribbon, fabric tape, well anything I could find really until I was happy with it!

I really hope you like how it turned out.....

Also check back soon as I am currently working on a couple of new fabric bag designs for the Stockport Handmade Market, which is on the 21st July. They are just beautiful and aren't even finished yet! And I have had to drag my sewing machine out ...............

Imagine Wall Canvas

The first time I stamped Poppy Cogs I knew I HAD to make wall canvas using it. In my head I wanted something really simple and minimal........

That really didn't happen but I love the result!

For this canvas I used the Poppy Cogs, Build Your Own Butterfly and Mini Cog Corner stamp sets from Crafty Roo Designs.
